Hands free car kits - Easy installation guide

Installing our hands-free carkits usually takes just a few moments of your time. There are no messy wires or fixings to worry about and you don’t need to be a mobile or computer wizard to understand the full instructions that are supplied with each unit. If you have any problems you can always contact us and we will be happy to provide help.

For example, to install the RVM100 car kit you simply clip it onto your rearview mirror. The back of the unit has two adjustable clips that will attach to just about any mirror. To date we have found that it is not suitable for Jaguar or VW Beetle cars. Once attached by the clips and seated firmly against the existing rearview mirror the car kit is secure and nearly ready for use. Adjust the mirror for your normal driving position.

To start receiving hands free calls, all you need to do is “pair” and wirelessly connect the device to your cell phone.

Pairing is a short process where you locate the hands free device on your mobile using bluetooth technology. All cell phones vary in their menu options but bluetooth is generally found in the connectivity menu. Turn bluetooth on, choose the “find hands free device” option and the unit will soon appear on your mobile. Enter the supplied password and paired will appear in the middle of the LCD screen on the mirror. Some cell phones will automatically connect at this point, while some require you to choose to connect from a further options menu. This step is only required for the first time - you don't need to pair and coonect in future. At this point you can now receive and make hands free calls.

With the device switched on, paired and connected any incoming calls will be sent from your mobile to the mirror with the caller number appearing on the display. When mobile contacts are added to the device, the name also appears. Make sure the call settings on your cell phone are turned up. You can now leave your cell phone in your pocket or handbag.

To answer a call, check that it is safe to do so and then press the TALK button, located at the centre of the controls below the microphone. That’s all you have to do. There are many features available, such as voice dialling and transmitting to your car stereo. It’s advisable to get to know the controls and layout before using it while driving.
