How does it work with Parrot video
Most hands free car kits on the market today are bluetooth enabled, which means they connect to your cell phone wirelessly by radio. The frequency used by this radio transmission is in a limited bandwidth reserved for industrial, scientific and medical use. Non bluetooth enabled devices are products that require installation by fitters with wiring to connect to your cell phone. All Cellmate hands free car kits are bluetooth enabled and are chosen amongst many reasons for their ease of installation and use while driving. This means that our products can be installed yourself and moved from one vehicle to another. To operate our devices you will need to use a cellphone with bluetooth functionality. You can check this in your instruction manual or on your cellphone in menu / settings / connectivity. Most cellphones purchased from 2009 onwards will be bluetooth enabled.Click here for a list of cell phones with bluetooth hands free profile. Bluetooth wireless technology utilizes password authentication to enable secure communications between 2 or more devices (up to 7 devices can normally be connected to the same network) in a range of typically up to 10 meters. Once the devices are “paired” (or linked together) calls received by your cellphone will be sent to the hands free carkit by radio. Some, if not all of your cellphone functionality will be available in the hands-free device. For example if you have recorded voice tags for your contacts, you can initiate voice dialing while driving by saying the name of the contact. The hands-free device will make the call by sending a command to your cellphone by radio. When active, bluetooth devices consume battery power faster than normal use. So for the best operation and reception it’s good to make sure your devices are fully charged. I top up my RVM100 hands free using the 12V adapter cable while driving every two days or so, or in the case of the windscreen solar model, make use of the sun rays! The SW1 and WS1 models can also be charged by using the USB outlet of any laptop or desktop PC. "Pairing" is a process where you connect your cell phone to the hands free car kit with bluetooth technology. It's simple to do. Turn on both devices and on your cell phone locate the car kit bluetooth device in the connectivity submenu. Your cell phone will start to search for the device and when located will prompt you to enter a supplied password. That's it. You are now paired. Some cell phones will now automatically connect but if yours does not, on your cell phone bluetooth menu there will be a list of available devices with an option to connect or disconnect. Choose the device you want to connect to. Once you have done this you are ready to make and receive calls. You only need pair and connect once. Once you have paired and connected your cell phone with the hands free car kit you will automatically connect when you next turn on the device. So for example if you go shopping for a bit and then return to your car with your mobile in your pocket or handbag, it will automatically reconnect when in range (approximately 10 meters). At the end of the day it would be best practice to turn off the car kit to conserve power. When you turn it on again in the morning your cell phone will reconnect. SAFETY NOTICE Always remember that just because the statistics say you are safer using a hands free car kit, the likelihood of causing a crash is increased when any distraction occurs or when road conditions become difficult. Cellmate recommends that if you are in doubt, don't answer the call. Always make sure you completely read the supplied instructions and understand the use of the car kit controls before driving on the road. |
