Wireless rear view mirror car kit

The RVM100 rearview mirror car kit is designed to provide a legal and safer environment when using your bluetooth enabled cell phone while driving. Employing the latest DSP technology with full duplex noise and echo suppression, this hands-free device has a powerful built in speaker and microphone. There are also options to transmit to your car stereo or use the provided earpiece.

This car kit is very easy to install and takes just a few moments of your time. It pairs with 2 cell phones simultaneously and simply clips onto your existing rearview mirror.

The RVM100 features caller name and number display which appears in the middle of the mirror. Upload your contacts or business cards - up to 200 numbers can be stored in the car kit  from your contacts list.  Voice dialing and call waiting are available for cell phones with these functions.

A high capacity Li-ion battery provides 7 days standby time with 8-10 hours talk time. You can easily recharge the car kit via the 12V car power cable. It takes a couple of hours to top up the battery after a day or two if use.  If you need to you can also remove the car kit and recharge it on your computer using the USB adapter.

Full instructions are enclosed with the kit and we recommend you familiarise yourself with the controls and functions before using it while driving. Only answer a call if it is safe to do so. If you need to make a call, best practice would be to use voice dialing.

Hold the RVM100 unit up to your existing rear view mirror and clip the bottom spring loaded clips under your rear view mirror.

As you gently, but firmly pull the mirror up to fit the two top clips over the mirror, there will be tension in the lower clips. This tension provides the adhesion between the two. Once attached to the mirror by the clips make sure the back of the unit is seated firmly against your rear view mirror. This will prevent mirror vibration. Once secure it is nearly ready for use. Adjust the rearview mirror for your normal driving position. To start receiving hands free calls, all you need to do is “pair” and wirelessly connect it to your cell phone.

Pairing is a process where the hands free device and your cell phone communicate using bluetooth technology. All cell phones vary in their menu options but bluetooth is generally found in the connectivity submenu. If your cell phone does not pair automatically, choose the “find hands-free device” option and HF88B2 will soon appear on your list of bluetooth devices. Enter the supplied password. If connection is not automatic, some cell phones will then have a sub menu where you make the connection. You can now receive and make hands free calls.

To send a contact or business card from your cell phone to the RVM100 unit make sure the two devices are not connected. When you are connected and try to send a contact, you will receive a “bluetooth busy” message.

Follow the menu options to send the contact. When the contact has been sent you will get a confirmation message appearing in the mirror LCD display.

For Apple iphone users, there is no ‘send contact” menu option. You can still upload contacts via the following methods: Press the up / down buttons on the front of the mirror at the same time and your contacts will start uploading. If you want to be more selective, use a bluetooth intermediary laptop on which you have synchronized your iphone contacts. Then send the contacts to the hands free device by bluetooth.

With the device switched on, paired, connected and with contacts transferred, incoming calls will be sent from your cell phone to the mirror with the caller name and number appearing on the display.

You can leave your cell phone in your pocket or handbag – just as long as it is within 10 meters of the device which is the limit of bluetooth range.

When leaving the car, turn off the device to conserve power. If your car is in the garage on nearby, turning off the unit will break the connection leaving you free to use your cell phone normally. When you next turn it on, your cell phone will reconnect automatically.

When initiating outgoing calls, try to use voice dialing. It’s a lot easier and safer to say the name of the person you want to speak to than scrolling through contacts. Try keeping your contacts to the minimum – it will be much easier to locate the number.

Where the goods are of a kind ordinarily acquired for personal, domestic or household use in accordance with the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 applies to this contract:

1 if any of the goods fail to comply with any guarantee in the Consumer Guarantees Act, Cellmate will repair or replace those goods within 1 year of purchase

2 without excluding Cellmate’s obligations under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, the Customer acknowledges that Cellmate does not provide any Express Guarantees (as defined in that Act) other than those expressly confirmed by Cellmate in writing.

3 if the goods are acquired by the Customer for business purposes, the Customer agrees that the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 does not apply.

4 if the Customer supplies the goods in trade to a person acquiring them for business purposes, it must be a term of the Customer's contract that the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 does not apply in respect of the goods and

5 if the Customer supplies the goods to any person, the Customer must not give or make any undertaking, assertion or representation in relation to the goods without Cellmate's prior approval in writing, and the Customer agrees to indemnify Cellmate against any liability or cost incurred by Cellmate under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 as a result of any breach by the Customer of these obligations.

6 The following terms apply wherever the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 does not apply to this contract, or where the following terms are not inconsistent with the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993:

6.1 Defective goods or goods which do not comply with the contract may at Cellmate’s discretion be repaired or replaced, or the price refunded.

6.2 Any right which the Customer may have to reject non-conforming or defective goods will only be effective if:

6.3 the Customer notifies Cellmate in writing within seven days following delivery and Cellmate is given the opportunity to inspect the goods and

6.4 the goods are returned unused, re-saleable and/or in the condition the Customer received them.

7 Cellmate accepts no liability for any claim by the Customer or any other person, including without limitation any claim relating to or arising from:

7.1 Any conditions, warranties, descriptions, representations, conditions as to fitness or suitability for any purpose, tolerance to any conditions, merchantability or otherwise, whether express or implied by law, trade custom or otherwise or

7.2 Any representations, warranties, conditions or agreement made by any agent or representative which are not expressly confirmed by Cellmate in writing or

7.3 Any services forming part of the supply of the goods which have been performed by any third party; and the Customer agrees to indemnify Cellmate against any such claim.

7.4 In any event, Cellmate's liability under any claim shall not exceed the price of the goods. 8 Nothing in these terms is intended to have the effect of contracting out of the provisions of the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 except to the extent permitted by that Act.

SAFETY FIRST

All Cellmate car kits comply with the Road User Rule hands free requirements when using a cell phone while driving. Use of a hands free car kit may provide a safer driving environment but it will not necessarily make you a safer driver. When using a hands free car kit, you the driver must exercise judgment on when it is safe to answer or make a call while driving. If in any doubt, do not answer the call.
